Joining us as a Forward Deployed Engineer

Tuza builds automation for banks and acquirers, replacing manual, governance-heavy processes (onboarding, risk, pricing, servicing) with structured workflows and AI agents.

As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you sit on the front line with our customers – mapping messy real-world processes, turning them into deterministic workflows, and shipping product in production environments. You’re half engineer, half systems thinker: equally happy in customer workshops and in code.

You are distinct from our engineering team as you'll be building isolated proof of concepts rapidly, in direct response to customer requests. Once you have technically and commercially validated your solution, we'll productise it, send it into engineering and deploy it for all of our customers. This is the ultimate way to shape a ticket.

What you’ll do

  • Embed with banks/acquirers to understand how onboarding, risk, pricing and servicing actually work today.
  • Design and implement TuzaOS workflows, integrations and automations that remove manual steps.
  • Prototype quickly, validate with real users, then harden into reliable production deployments.
  • Work closely with product, FDOs and customers to prioritise, scope and iterate on deployments.
  • Instrument what you ship and use data to prove impact (capacity, conversion, risk outcomes).

What we’re looking for

  • 3+ years as a software engineer (backend or full-stack) shipping to production.
  • Strong systems thinking: ability to break complex processes into clear atomic steps.
  • Comfortable in ambiguous, non-spec environments – you help write the spec.
  • Solid experience with modern web stacks and APIs (e.g. TypeScript/Node, Python, Postgres).
  • Excellent communicator; confident in customer-facing sessions and technical deep dives.

Nice to have

  • Former or aspiring CEO/CTOs are encouraged
  • Experience in fintech, banking, risk, payments or underwriting.
  • Worked in forward deployed / consulting / customer engineering roles before.
  • Familiarity with workflow engines, low-code tools, or agentic/AI-powered products.
